A Cotai Glory colt whose dam showed real ability at 6f as a juvenile, Beechwood Glory has a demanding introduction on debut and a yard not renowned for having runners ready first time — born in February, and youngsters with that profile often need the run. Worth monitoring but hard to fancy without a prep.

Showed inexperience at Salisbury last time, hampered by the track and beaten eight lengths — still lightly raced and looks like she has further to develop. Effective over 6f on good to soft and possibly capable of staying a little further; the trainer is struggling for form at present, which adds a note of caution to an already tentative profile.

A Blackbeard colt — by a high-class sprinting sire out of a well-regarded middle-distance mare — Chan Noir fetched 32,000 guineas as a yearling and is a half-brother to Samurai Mike, who showed smart ability at 6f. With a pedigree that suggests 6f is likely to suit, the betting will be the guide on debut; hard to assess without a run.

Caught a bit flat-footed early on debut at Windsor but picked up well in the closing stages to finish third, beaten three and a half lengths — the experience looks to have been instructive and a step up in trip should bring more. Effective at 5f and expected to stay further; yet to win but the debut read was encouraging.
