Beaten 7 lengths on debut at Wetherby, Angel Steps has plenty to prove in another novice company and ranks last on our figures. The trainer is firing at just 4% over the last fortnight, so there is little in the formbook to encourage.

Sprint-bred and stepping forward from a fourth at Ripon last time — where a positive ride showed encouragement — Calef looks capable of better yet to score, and Catterick's sharp track could bring more out of her. The worry is she remains winless and must convert that promise.

Pulled too hard and beaten nine lengths on debut at Wetherby, Ma Fille De Reve showed raw speed in her pedigree but must settle much more readily to have a say; hard to fancy until she proves she can control her exuberance.

Third on debut at Haydock after going too hard early and forcing the pace for the closers, Minzelle is a speed-pedigree filly who should benefit from that experience and come into her own dropped to 5f. The trainer's 28% strike rate in recent weeks adds further confidence, though she is yet to score.

Showed real ability when second on debut before reverting sharply at Nottingham last time, Miss Tuite clearly has the pace for 5f on good ground and is worth forgiving that reversal — the key risk is whether she can reproduce the promise of her opening outing.
