Clearance Handicap Hurdle

Switched to hurdles for new yard last May-September and won four of his six starts (all on good ground), two of them over C&D (one a handicap); held in fourth of six at Plumpton last September when last seen but retains potential; yard among the winners and he could go well back from a break.

Highly progressive over fences in the first half of last season, winning here four times (2m, good to soft/good); 2m5f here appeared to stretch him last month following some time off; has a lower mark to work with back over hurdles and he could play a leading role back down in trip.

Prolific between November 2024 and June 2025, with his four wins in that spell including two here; his progress seemed to stall subsequently but he ran well when second of five to a progressive winner at Chepstow (2m, good) last time and could be in the mix; effective on good to soft.

Three wins for new stable last season (2m, heavy-good to soft) and he's continued in good form, beaten only 1l when fourth at Fakenham (2m4f, good) last month; the drop back in trip could help; firmly in calculations.

Useful on testing ground on the Flat early in career and this 4yo has tapped back into that promise over hurdles this spring, winning a maiden at Hereford (2m, good) in April on his second stable start and following up in a C&D novice (good); trainer won this with Clearance, after whom this race is named, in 2022 and 2024; intriguing candidate back in a handicap.
