Johnny & Tony Connell Memorial Handicap Hurdle (Div I)

Struggled when upped in trip for C&D maiden on Saturday and has now been unplaced in all ten hurdling starts; difficult to enthuse over.

Just 1-9 over hurdles but returned from two-year absence with a pleasing second at Newcastle (2m4f, good to soft) in March and remains well handicapped on older form; high on the list.

Gained three of his five hurdling wins over C&D; would appeal more on ground slower than good but last month's low-key reappearance run ought to have teed him up for this return to Cartmel; no surprise if he features.

Low-mileage mare who kept on for respectable third on recent handicap debut at Uttoxeter (2m7f, good); needs to build on that performance but may still have potential.

Didn't run badly in a low-grade Flat marathon last month but he ended the last jumps season with two disappointing runs (both 2m4f) and has a bit more to prove than some of these.
