Darley Stallions EBF Novice Stakes (GBB Race)

Awarded his debut race after the first past the post weighed in light and that rival impressed next time out; this gelding also took a sizeable step forward back at Kempton (1m) when a clear second behind yesterday's 2,000 Guineas contender King's Trail; faces some interesting opponents here but might be up to the task.

Gelded after last season's run; highly unlikely that the 1-8 favourite gave his running when this son of Gleneagles beat him at Pontefract (1m, good to soft) but he's a well-bred improver and unexposed.

Sharp pedigree but was confined to 7f last season and made all second time out at York (good); mixed messages as to the strength of that form but he appeals as the type to do well as a 3yo.

Only made his debut last week when runner-up to a 1-4 chance at Wetherby (1m, good to firm); a line through the third gives him a fair bit to find with Conclave but this colt is clearly open to improvement.
