Carling Handicap

Won novice/maiden events at Wolverhampton (7f) for Clive Cox on his first two runs; finished in rear in three handicaps for his current yard but he ran into plenty of trouble over 6f at Southwell 18 days ago; now makes his turf debut but he's on a reduced mark and is not ruled back up in trip.

Seven-race maiden but she returned after a break with a close third in a Lingfield handicap (7f, AW) last month; should benefit from that run and she's respected off only 1lb higher back on turf.

Close third of four on debut at Pontefract (6f, good to firm) last August; didn't match that in two runs during the winter but he's been gelded since and is a possible improver now returned to turf on his handicap debut; needs close look for in-form yard.

Down the field in three runs for Richard Hannon last summer and was tenth of 12 on his recent handicap/stable debut at Southwell (6f, Tapeta; 11-1); still early days but he needs a transformation at this new trip.

No progress in three qualifying runs but he found improvement upped to 7f on nursery debut when a strong-finishing second at Yarmouth (good to soft) in September; only 1lb higher than for that close call and he's an interesting contender with cheekpieces added on his return.
