Dunraven Bowl Pink Eyed Pedro "Grassroots' Open Hunters" Chase

Rampant in sub-3m good-ground hurdle races and chases last summer, and has the beating of Yippee Ki Yay on a line through Macklin, whom he trounced at Exeter last time (3m, good); still fairly lightly raced over this sort of trip, and drying forecast rates a big plus.

Splendid old-timer who has won both confined novice (2019) and grassroots (2025) incarnations of this race (each on good); always held by a match-fit and five-years younger rival on this month's seasonal return, albeit beaten just 2l; likely to be spot on for his title defence.

Remains the last horse to beat hunter chase star Barton Snow, albeit back in late 2024 on desperate ground; twice a Trebudannon open point winner (good to soft) since January's Hereford hunter chase exit which was not of his own making, but an unseat at Stratford last Sunday is harder to forgive.

Hampered when unseating in an open point at neighbouring Howick last month, and generally a safe ride; both handicap chase wins (from 17 starts over fences) have come over Wincanton's 3m1f on ground softer than good, and the drying forecast isn't strictly ideal.
