Anthony Woods Electrical Lightning Bolt Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Lightly raced 6yo who was an encouraging third of eight in a first-time visor (retained since) at Hereford (2m, good) last month on his third chase start; of interest on that performance but soundly beaten at Market Rasen (2m1f, good) eight days ago and has to leave that run well behind.

Won a maiden hurdle at Newcastle (2m1f, good to soft) last February and went close in a novice hurdle here (2m, good) next time; makes chase/handicap debut following a year off but with his trainer in phenomenal form; could have a big part to play, especially if strong in the betting.

His best form has come on soft/heavy ground which is unlikely to prevail today and he's failed to threaten the winner when second at Ayr (2m4f, soft) on his last two starts; however, those were still positive performances and he may benefit from the drop back in trip; not discounted.

There was no return to form on his two starts this winter; arrives with plenty to prove but he's down to a dangerous mark and, if he is to stage a revival, it's likely to be here where he's posted both victories.
