Virgin Bet A Good Bet Rosebery Handicap (London Middle Distance Series Qualifier) (GBBPlus Race)

Ex-Gosden 5yo; something of a revival with his second and third in small fields at Lingfield (1m2f) on last two outings for current yard, the latter a Group 3; bit more to prove back in the different scenario of this handicap but, with 7lb claimer recruited, he's not entirely dismissed.

No win since July 2023 and 0-8 since joining this stable but most of those runs were creditable, including his third in this race last year and close fourth in Saudi Arabia six weeks ago; place chance.

Busy 6yo who is 10-28 on AW, with three of those wins last autumn (two C&D) and latest at Newcastle in January; the handicapper has reacted, though, and the creditable efforts of last two starts weren't nearly so rewarding.

Won on reappearance at Chester (7.5f, good) last May and tapped back into that promise for a clearcut win at Ayr (1m2f, good to soft) in September; up 6lb for this first run since and it's also his AW debut, but he probably retains potential.

Won three AW handicaps during his 22-race French career, plus a turf win at Longchamp last May; those have earned him a lofty mark and he's not been seen since a 100,000euros sale last July; also not proven beyond 1m2f and he was tongue tied for all his French races, but isn't this time and he wore today's hood only twice (2024); there are probably more solid options.
