SBK: Betting Without The Bull Handicap

Won a 7f course maiden last January and went on to show useful form in turf handicaps over that trip in the spring; not seen for ten months (gelded) but should have more to offer as a lightly raced sort from a top stable; his strong-travelling, front-running style over 7f suggests he should have the speed for 6f (previous attempt came when green on debut); very interesting contender.

Pair of 6f turf wins for Ed Bethell last summer and ended his time with that stable with a close second in 6f Wolverhampton handicap in October; his new yard has made a good start to the year.

Boasts a fine record over 5f here, winning in December and reaching the frame on all three outings this year; 6f AW winner for previous stable but has raced almost exclusively at the minimum trip for Nigel Tinkler; should be on the premises if still fully effective at 6f.

Went down by only a neck over C&D off 1lb higher in January but his two efforts since have been no more than respectable.

Looked promising at two but didn't really kick on last year, with fifth his best placing in four handicap starts to end the season; sold out of Karl Burke's stable for 27,000gns last autumn; a watching brief is the percentage call on reappearance.
