William Hill NRMB On The Grand National Apprentice Handicap (Go Racing In Yorkshire Series) (Div I)

Came from last to first in a seven-runner race at Nottingham (1m6f, good to soft) last October; not in anything like the same form when a remote fourth at Newbury (1m4f, heavy) on final start; races mainly over further but he was a creditable third over this trip on his 2025 reappearance.

Comfortably off the mark when seeing off nine rivals over 1m2f at Newcastle nine days ago; can race keenly and that improved performance coincided with the first time he was partnered by Danny Tudhope but he won readily enough to think he can cope with a 5lb rise if he's not jockey reliant.

Drawn a blank since AW debut success but was placed over this trip on turf (good/good to firm) off higher marks last season; hard to get too excited by this winter's AW efforts but it's possible an eight-week break could have had a reviving effect; one to note in the betting.

Successful over this trip on Polytrack at Lingfield in December and mostly creditable efforts since, including second back at Lingfield (1m2f again) last time; just as effective on turf (won at Goodwood off 1lb lower last summer); acts on soft; has to enter calculations.

Won two fillies' handicaps (7f and 1m) at Newcastle in November but has lost her form in recent AW starts; it remains to be seen whether a return to turf and step up in trip sparks a revival.
