The going is Good.
Won three of his six races (at up to 1m4f) for Roger Varian and was useful; 0-4 over hurdles but bar one blip it's been a promising start; he was facing testing ground for the first time in his life when third at Naas in the race that yet again provided the winner of the Fred Winter and conditions were again slow when third in a big-field maiden last week at Navan; suspicion there's more in the locker that could be unleashed now handicapping, especially back on a drier surface; big player.
Won only one of his 15 Flat races in France but won two of his four hurdle starts at Cagnes-Sur-Mer, both on very soft; it was all a bit of a culture shock on British debut at Cheltenham (100-1 for the Fred Winter) where he raced far too freely to give himself any realistic hope; reservations for now, and Ben Jones gets off to partner his stablemate.
In France he won over 1m4f and a 2m1f hurdle on very soft ground; didn't run too badly for a 150-1 chance in the Fred Winter but he's probably plenty high enough in the weights.
Dual Flat winner who progressed again to edge out Talakan at Ludlow in February and, although it was a rather sobering defeat at Warwick, that was against older opposition; good ground won't bother him but others might be on kinder marks.
Consistent on the Flat in France where his win came over 1m6f (heavy); it's been a likeable start over hurdles, showing similar sort of form in his three defeats; closely matched with King Al on their Ludlow clash and this gelding then bumped into a promising rival at Warwick (good to soft; unraced on good); unlikely to be far away on this handicap debut.
