Stephens Industries Epdm Flat Roofing Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

A regular in long-distance chases, with an excellent record at Ffos Las but pulled up on all four appearances over these fences (twice in Welsh National); he's now a 13yo with no win since May 2024 (his only race under Edward Vaughan) but some ability remained last spring when last seen and he's accelerating down the weights.

5yo whose first two runs under rules were more promising than the two since; latest was chase debut here (extended 2m7f, soft) in which he plugged on for third of 11 but was beaten 18l in that handicap; now tries a marathon trip and first-time headgear, for yard among the winners on Tuesday.

Ended last season with two wins over hurdles and he outstayed his rivals to snatch another at Ffos Las (3m, heavy; under Toby McCain-Mitchell) five weeks ago in his fifth handicap chase; back up 3lb but, unraced beyond 3m, looks a strong candidate for long-distance races and therefore may be able to raise his game further.

Last won in the North Wales National at Bangor (extended 3m5f, heavy) in February 2024 with first-time cheekpieces; best effort this term was back in November (four races since) but he's down the weights, back chasing and some headgear returns after two hurdles races without; yard going well too.
