Midnite: Built For 2026 Not 2006 Apprentice Handicap

Improved when sent over staying trips and handicapping last summer, getting off the mark at Yarmouth in August before running away with a C&D handicap three weeks later; came up shy off his revised mark in two starts for Darryll Holland but he still has time to do better; promising apprentice booked for this first start for John Butler.

Still to add to his 7f maiden win for Charles Hills in October 2024 but he has been banging at the door this year, placed on his last four starts (1m2f-1m4f); goes into unknown territory in terms of stamina and he's by Blue Point so there has to be a question mark.

Strong at the finish when making a winning stable debut at Southwell ten days ago (1m6f; well backed); 2lb wrong under his penalty but a good 7lb claimer has been booked; should be fine at the trip and he's a strong contender.

Losing run dates back to July 2023; conditions are no problem for this veteran and he has been running respectably of late; others appeal more all the same.

Off the mark at the eighth attempt when landing a Chelmsford handicap over an extended 1m5f in January; lacklustre effort over 1m5f here four weeks ago and connections now step him up in trip in a change of headgear.
