MW Civils & Groundworks Handicap Chase (Go North One Man Series Qualifier)

Unexposed 5yo who was well beaten on debut in Ireland last May but, with a hood fitted, has made the frame in three maiden hurdles (1m7f-2m4f) for new stable this year; switched to fences for this handicap debut; interesting.

Built upon promising seasonal/chase debut when scoring at Newcastle (2m, good to soft) in November and again ran well when close fourth of six at Catterick (2m3f, good to soft) in January; drops back in trip here; might still have more to offer over fences.

Seemingly aided by tongue-tie and/or cheekpieces in the autumn, most notably when making all to open account over hurdles here (2m1f, soft); has shaky record over fences (unplaced all four attempts), though.

Gained all four wins here (two over C&D); about 13l behind Tanking Along over hurdles here (2m1f, soft) on latest outing but will be better suited by the quicker ground today, and reverts to chasing on a good mark.

Now 6lb lower than when winning by 6l over C&D (soft) in February 2024 but returned from long absence with two heavy defeats at Catterick last month (hurdle/chase) and needs to prove his old ability remains.
