Placed in his three bumpers for Paul Nicholls (one on soft) and made it 2-2 over hurdles for Nicky Henderson when winning by 12l at Cheltenham (2m1f, good to soft) last month; leading claims for top trainer who has won three of the last six runnings.

Built upon point/bumper promise (including on good to soft ground) to win on hurdle debut at Cheltenham (2m, soft) in November; another good run when Listed runner-up at Sandown (2m, soft) since and he's 5lb better off with the winner Hurricane Pat, although that rival had plenty in hand.

Runner-up on debut in bumper last February (2m, soft) and 4-4 since (good to soft/good), winning at Market Rasen (2m) this season on his first two hurdle starts; he's a highly likeable prospect but today is a much tougher test of his credentials and others have more substance to their form.

Smart stayer on the Flat in his prime and he won on hurdle debut at Hexham (2m4f, heavy) last month; another good run when third at Kelso (2m6f, good to soft) since but likely his limitations will be exposed once more today.
