Irish Stallion Farms EBF Star Appeal Stakes (Listed Race)

Shaped quite well despite showing his inexperience first time out at Leopardstown, taking fifth place, 2 1/2l behind today's rival Eleven A; helped to boost the form of that race when landing a 6f event at Cork by a narrow margin; will need to find extra in this grade.

Backed up a 6f maiden win at Curragh with a third placing in a Group 3 at the same venue, and fourth of 20 in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes, a head in front of subsequent Group 1 winner Power Blue; beaten just over 3l in sixth when stepped up to 7f in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes; confirmed a high standard of form with a Group 3 second at Deauville.

Strong in the market when fourth of 11 on debut in a 7f Leopardstown maiden in August; not much went right that day (awkward start and too keen early), and he made amends by beating a more experienced opponent at Down Royal; trip and surface are suitable; open to further improvement

By Wootton Bassett out of an unraced sister to Yorkshire Oaks winner Tapestry; should be ready for this quick jump in class after winning readily from a once-raced stablemate on debut at Listowel; coped with heavy ground then, but no strong reason why he should fail to act effectively on this surface.

Improved from debut when third of six in a Listed race over a little further than this at Tipperary in August; soft ground might have been responsible for a less encouraging run at Roscommon a month ago; gelded since, faces a tough task in this company.
