I Love Julie Parkes Handicap (GBBPlus Race) (Div II)

Unraced on softer than good; 3yo who has won two of his six handicaps, including when upped to 1m2f at Ayr on penultimate start (travelled strongly before asserting in tidy fashion); Haydock race ten days ago did not pan out ideally and he probably had no chance with the winner anyway, but he beat the other 12; same mark today and he remains one to be interested in.

Won 7f AW maiden last October for Charlie Hills but beat only two rivals this season across his first four handicaps; going beyond 1m for first time needs to turn things around dramatically but his dam was a 1m5f winner.

Probably acts on good to soft; came from off the pace to score at Pontefract (1m, good; back to form) and Doncaster (1m2f, good to firm; a career best) on last two outings; the latter was from Whiskey Pete and today's 1.20 runner Forest Caper; up another 2lb but he's been on a roll.

Three turf wins (on good, soft and heavy) from the front for Eve Johnson Houghton; down the field on all three starts for Kevin Philippart de Foy this February-May and has now changed trainers again; the cheekpieces which went on for his final win last year now return for the first time since.

Made a belated reappearance last month and won by a head at Goodwood (1m2f, good to firm) eight days later, gamely making most; up 2lb today but the chief concern is that she has excelled at Goodwood for last three wins.
