DragonBet 'Welsh Champion' Hurdle (A Limited Handicap) (GBB Race)

Battled gamely to collect a good prize at Windsor (3m, soft) in January and is now 3-9 over hurdles; may still have more improvement to come at some stage but this drop back to 2m is not an obvious move.

A very useful novice hurdler last season and ran big race when third of 17 on handicap debut at Aintree festival (2m, good) in April, having been badly hampered in early stages and made up considerable ground from the rear; 5lb higher here but still has more to offer.

Well handicapped on best form for Nicky Henderson but became inconsistent for that stable and changed hands after midfield finish at Cheltenham Festival in March; usually runs over 2m4f+; best watched on stable debut.

Returned to form with win at Ayr (2m, good to soft) in April and bettered that performance when commendable second of 17 at Punchestown festival (2m, yielding) later that month; not yet fully exposed after only nine hurdle runs; contender if still in same form after summer break.

Easily justified skinny odds in Ffos Las novice (2m, good to soft) in April and is now 2-6 over hurdles; faces much tougher opposition on this seasonal/handicap debut but probably still has potential; shortlisted.
