Remembering Margaret Roberts Mares' Handicap Hurdle (Challenger Mares' Hurdle Series Qualifier)

2-6 over hurdles, the latter win gained in quite valuable series final at Musselburgh (2m4f, good to soft) in March; signed off with very respectable fourth at Ayr (3m, good to soft) in April and has a big role to play here if fully tuned up after six-month break.

Won three in a row (2m-2m1f) for Kevin Phillippart de Foy when switched to handicap hurdles in the spring; subsequent defeat in competitive Summer Hurdle is excusable but she was tailed off when upped to 2m5f for stable debut at Newton Abbot in August and now has a point to prove.

Four hurdle wins, the latest off today's mark over C&D (good) in March; below that form on all three subsequent appearances but has possibilities if refreshed by 81-day break.

Useful in bumpers in 2023-24 season, winning twice before commendable Grade 2 third at Aintree festival, and made winning hurdle debut here (2m, good to soft) last October; absent since disappointing run last December and untested on ground quicker than good to soft but could still have considerable potential; upped in trip for this handicap debut.

Back with Harry Derham after latest spell in Jersey, during which she won a small-field hurdle race in April; her latest run on the mainland was a comfortable win under regular rider Victoria Malzard at Wincanton (2m5f, good) just under a year ago; 7lb higher here; still considered.
