Carol & Malcolm Humble 20th Wedding Anniversary Handicap Hurdle

Signed off in Ireland with close third in Cork handicap (2m4f, good) in May and probably didn't need to improve to record ready success in Stratford maiden (2m, good to firm) on stable debut in July; no surprise if he builds on that winning performance here.

Has taken form to whole new level since joining George Bewley in the spring, winning twice (once over C&D) from four starts; lost out only narrowly in competitive race at Cartmel (2m1f, good) six weeks ago and commands respect in current mood.

Not an instant success over hurdles last season but was on the upgrade in the spring, making all in good-ground novice events at Carlisle (2m1f) and Kelso (2m); makes handicap debut after 164-day absence but could easily have more improvement to come this term.

Has very mixed hurdling record for three different stables but came good for this one at first attempt, at Bangor (2m3f, good) in July, and rebounded from poor run with pretty good fourth at Sedgefield (2m4f, good) last month; has a fighting chance here if on another going day.

Won four-runner chase here (1m7f, good) in first-time blinkers in June but has regressed and become inconsistent under all codes; tailed off on the Flat in refitted cheekpieces a fortnight ago and not an easy one to predict on this return to hurdling; blinkers back on.
