BetMGM Rous Stakes (Listed Race)

Come-from-behind sprinter who picked up well to win C&D handicap (good ground; has won on soft) in July and was far from disgraced when fourth in Newbury Group 3 next time; has a bit to find with Shagraan judged on that last piece of form but returning to Ascot could suit and he's not discounted.

Has had six goes in Listed races and been unplaced each time, most recently when sixth at Pontefract (50-1) in August; hard to fancy.

Tough sprinter who has improved of late, winning the Listed Beverley Bullet (5f, good to firm) in August and finishing clear of the rest when second of 14 in Group 3 at Newbury (5f, good to soft) in September; tactically versatile and may not have reached his ceiling just yet; commands respect.

Came good last autumn, winning three times, and he confirmed that this is his time of year by posting a personal best to beat his 24 rivals in the Ayr Silver Cup (6f, soft; made all) two weeks ago; hasn't run over 5f since the early part of his 2yo campaign but gives the impression this trip may well suit; well worth his place back in a Listed race and set for a bold show.

Low-mileage 3yo who continues to raise his game, defying top weight in handicap at Doncaster (5f, soft) three weeks ago in game fashion; may have more in the tank but he'll need it in this higher grade.
