Friends & Family Remembering Norman Sharpe Handicap Hurdle

Useful Flat stayer who has won a handicap over hurdles (off 8lb lower) and has since made it 4-5 in this discipline when defying penalties in a 2m1f good-ground novice at Newton Abbot; he was entitled to win that and probably with greater ease than he did, but he's a likeable type.

Not as good as he was but that's reflected in his mark and he knows his way around this place; returning from a break when third in this 12 months ago off a 4lb higher mark; could easily have a role to play.

Capable Flat performer; sole defeat in his first three hurdle races came in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham but he trailed home last on handicap debut two months ago (strong race); down 4lb and returns to quicker ground that suits him well.

Capable performer at up to 1m2f on the Flat; Stratford novice winner who was turned over at long odds-on under a penalty at Market Rasen and that was a backward step; also ran moderately in his previous handicap over hurdles, so one or two others in here appeal more.

Third in a novice last time (penalised) after form figures of 414 in 2m handicaps on good ground; only 4lb higher than for the win but he is up in grade here.
