Upwardly mobile 4yo who won prestigious events at Ascot (7f International; good) in July and Goodwood (6f Stewards' Cup; good to soft) in August; has gone up a total of 13lb on the basis of those efforts but he may have more in the tank and he wasn't beaten far in this race (good to firm) in 2024.

Won seven times at 5f-6f last season; seemed to be building up to something again when running well for a long way behind Two Tribes in the Stewards' Cup and he met trouble when down the field here on Wednesday; probably in better heart than recent form figures suggest and not ruled out.

Hasn't won for nearly two years and his powers are on the wane, but he showed he's capable of going close off his current mark when seventh to Two Tribes in the Stewards' Cup three weeks ago, finishing second in the far-side group; placed in this race twice before and has each-way hopes again.

Unbeaten (in two 5f Listed races) at York, running a personal best when getting up close home at the Dante meeting in May; however, his other performances this term have left something to be desired and he needs to bounce back after running as if amiss in a 5f handicap at Ascot four weeks ago.

Had a productive AW season which culminated in a valuable win at Newcastle on Good Friday, but two runs since over C&D and at Royal Ascot have been poor; has turf form but needs to be revived by a two-month break.
