David Chapman Memorial Handicap

Successful at Newcastle in February (first run after wind surgery); hasn't always had the rub of the green since but he wasn't beaten far at Beverley two weeks ago; should find this being run to suit and he's a key player despite a lower draw than ideal.

Made all to win a C&D handicap last month and then went close at Musselburgh four weeks ago; taken on up front at Catterick two weeks ago and didn't run to her best; could bounce back at this venue.

Took advantage of the drop into classified company when beating Better by a head at Nottingham 11 days ago (5f, good); still feasibly weighted back in a handicap; has the rail draw and she's high on the list.

Chased home Canaria Queen in a Nottingham classified event 11 days ago and 1lb better off for a head defeat today; ran another good race at Newcastle on Saturday, never nearer than at the finish; new blinkers replace cheekpieces; has the ability to win a race of this nature but he's an habitual slow starter so will always need some luck in running.

Seven-race maiden; didn't run badly at Redcar on her reappearance in May but she's failed to build on it twice since; down in the weights but others look more convincing.
