The going is Good To Firm.
No specific going preferences noted for the runners.
A strong contender on 7f form for previous yard but just a tepid response to pressure in two runs for new connections (without and with blinkers; tongue-tie now added); handicapper has been cagey in dropping him just 1lb but this is an easier grade; too soon to write off.
Somewhat unlucky to be on a losing run going back to a C&D win last July as he's run some cracking races in defeat this year, including when just touched off over C&D (good to firm) and losing out only to a subsequent Ascot winner, at York, also in May; looks sure to run his race again.
Losing turf run goes back nearly two years and he's achieved little over 6f in 2025 for this yard, but he's done his winning over 7f and has dropped 9lb since the spring; interesting to see what the market says with cheekpieces fitted (has run well in a hood).
Two AW wins at 6f and 7f but he hasn't come up with much for new stable since back from a layoff, despite dropping a good deal in the weights.
Improved with each of three 6f races and it looked more a case of just needing the run than lack of stamina when a close third of ten on handicap debut at Doncaster (7f, good) in June; respected off the same mark.
