Not so good as he was but that is reflected in his mark and he's enjoying a revival this year, winning 6f handicaps at Doncaster and here either side of two narrow defeats; high on the list.
Enjoying a fine year, winning handicaps here (7f, good to firm) and Hamilton (6f, good to soft) and runner-up on three other occasions; couldn't justify favouritism in a competitive Haydock sprint 11 days ago but he didn't run as badly as the bare figures might indicate, travelling well but with nowhere to go before getting shuffled back through the pack; won't mind if rain arrives and he's high on the list despite dropping back to a sharp 6f.
Looked quite promising when winning a couple of AW events early in the year but he hasn't kicked on since handicapping; this is an ease in grade, and a tongue-tie goes on for the first time (new blinkers replacing cheekpieces too), but he's not a solid option.
Yet to win a handicap but he's run some good races, second to a handicap blot at Southwell (6f) and then a good third at Goodwood last month (5f, good); dropped 1lb for his troubles and going back up in trip will help; solid contender.
Made all when winning a 6f handicap at Windsor last August (good to firm) off an 8lb higher mark; no impact in two runs for new stable this year but Paul Mulrennan is a positive booking for the yard (3-11 this year as well as two seconds and a third) and a revival could be imminent with cheekpieces now refitted.
