AJC Group Handicap Chase

Had a great second half of last year over hurdles, with wins at Cartmel (2m6f) and Down Royal (3m) before good second in novice hurdle at this track (21.5f); fitness will have to be taken on trust on return but big player on handicap chase debut if he's ready to go.

Mark took a hit for two wins at around 3m last November, though wasn't beaten far when fifth at Punchestown a week ago; this is an easier assignment and he looks set to go well.

Only 2-36 overall and last win came here over hurdles three years ago; hasn't offered much in four starts this year, for all his remote fourth here over 2m3f last month wasn't a bad effort.

Sole win came over hurdles in 2m6f course handicap, having previously finished second here over 3m; solid third over C&D on chase debut last month off 91 but poor at Wexford; wouldn't want rain.

Better than ever last summer, winning over hurdles at Tramore and Sligo; now 0-11 over fences but good return run at Tramore two weeks ago when third of 14 (2m6f, good to yielding), an effort that can be marked up as he raced wide throughout.
