Coral Charge (Group 3) (Registered As The Sprint Stakes)

Better than ever when proving too strong for She's Quality in the Group 3 Palace House Stakes at Newmarket on his reappearance; no better than midfield in the Temple and King Charles III since; likely vulnerable trying to give weight away all round.

Tough sprinter who has been performing with credit in good handicaps this year; only fourth when dropped back to 5f at Windsor last month, though, and he'll need a big personal best to feature in this exalted company.

Smart on his day, as when winning last season's Group 2 Temple Stakes at Haydock (5f, soft); low-key reappearance at York but much more like it when fifth of 20 in the Group 1 King Charles III at Ascot (good to firm) last month, keeping on well and doing easily the best of those drawn low (seven of the first eight home came from double-figure stalls); seems to handle most ground and he's a strong contender with this stiff track looking likely to suit.

He was having his first run for 773 days when last of 20 in the King Charles III at Royal Ascot 18 days ago; that should have blown away any cobwebs but a leap of faith is required to support him this time.

Tough and consistent sprinter; solid efforts in Class 2 handicaps on his first two runs this year and just over one length behind Balmoral Lady when third in a Haydock Listed event five weeks ago; should run his race but minor money is perhaps again his best hope.
