Charlie Wood Stakes (Listed Race)

Fairly useful chaser who is 5-17 in that sphere, but he was a big price on Flat debut at Goodwood (1m6f maiden) two weeks ago and finished a well-held fourth of seven; that wasn't bad after a slow start but this is a daunting task in this Listed event and he has stacks to find on the figures.

7yo who has been lightly raced in recent years; struggled in Group 2 Hardwicke at Royal Ascot two weeks ago, but that was after a year off and his last two wins have been in Listed events, including when making all at the Curragh (1m4f, good) last May; has leading claims if he can recapture that form and he's a key player on this drop back in class.

Lightly raced 4yo who easily won a handicap at Southwell (1m4f, AW) in December and didn't run badly when last of seven at 150-1 in Group 3 Aston Park at Newbury (1m4f, good to firm) last month; however, he faces another tough task in this Listed event and is best watched.

Made it 4-9 on AW when winning a Kempton handicap (1m3f) in March and was respectable third in Listed race there next time; his best turf form matches up to his peak AW efforts but he didn't really fire at Royal Ascot (1m4f handicap) two weeks ago and is now 1-18 in this sphere; mixed messages and he needs to raise his game again after that last run.

0-5 in Listed events but she's finished runner-up four times and was only just caught at Pontefract (1m4f, good) two weeks ago; that was a fillies' event and this is tougher but she's generally reliable and should give it another good shot; respected.
