Having dropped down the weights he was short-headed at Chester (5f, soft) last month; he's inconsistent and 5f may be his optimum trip, but seems versatile ground-wise and might not be far away if backing up his latest run.

Kicked off the turf season with two wins in a row (7f, good) and back on the scoresheet at Chester (6f, good) on Saturday; carries a 5lb penalty today but Warren Fentiman removes the same amount and he's a solid candidate.

Won two in a row for Michael O'Callaghan last summer but below par on final few runs for that yard and finished down the field on stable debut at Windsor in May; needs to get back on track.

Returned to winning ways under Jack Dace at Goodwood (6f, soft) last month; his form can be in and out but he ran really well over 7f here (good) last July on his sole previous visit, and could go well once more.

Two wins (6f, good/good to firm) last season from his three 2yo starts; patchy form this campaign but gelded since a disappointing run at Leicester last time and it will be no surprise if he bounces back with a big effort.
