Savills Handicap Hurdle

Took form to new level when comfortable winner at Kelso (2m, good) last month, his fifth success over hurdles; might still have untapped potential over this longer trip but was slightly disappointing when well-held third at Stratford yesterday.

Very useful at his best for Harry Fry but has regressed and become inconsistent; not disgraced in Coral Cup at Cheltenham Festival (2m5f good to soft) on latest outing in March and, having changed hands for £35,000 last month, is in much calmer waters for this stable debut; market may guide.

Smart in his prime but needed considerable help from the handicapper before driven-out win at Chepstow (2m, good) in April; subsequent defeat in valuable Haydock race is not viewed harshly but he's not yet proven over this far and others in the field have more appealing profiles; cheekpices removed after one use.

Lightly raced over the last couple of years but returned from latest break with pretty good third at Bangor (2m3f, good) this month and remains well handicapped; major player if that recent outing brought him on.

Back in good form this spring, most notably when keeping on well for narrow win at Warwick (2m3f, good) two starts ago; not yet fully exposed over this sort of trip and probably still on a workable mark; likely contender.
