The going is Good To Firm.
Much improved this year, winning an AW maiden in fine style on his reappearance and rewarding market support when seeing off his nine rivals at the Craven meeting at Newmarket in April (6f, good to soft); finished the thick end of 3l behind Hucklesbrook at York last month but his high draw wasn't beneficial as things panned out; remains capable of a bigger performance.
C&D novice winner last August (good to soft), after which he ran creditably in a York Listed race in October; promising third behind Double Rush on reappearance at the Craven meeting (6f, good to soft) and took another step forward on that other Newmarket track with a dominant display at the Guineas meeting, hanging left under pressure no barrier to a comfortable success; an 11lb rise asks a stiffer question and this race is usually won by something lurking further down the weights.
Twice a runner-up in Group 2s last year; ended his 2yo campaign with a couple of lesser efforts though and he made a low-key return at Chantilly (5.5f, good to soft; Group 3) in April; up against it on his handicap debut.
Two wins as a 2yo, notably a sales race at Doncaster's St Leger meeting (6.5f, good), and he also won a 1m conditions event in Dubai in January; unplaced in two runs back in Britain this spring/summer and a personal best will be required to take this.
Ran his best race when keeping on for fourth of 24 in the Palace Of Holyroodhouse at Royal Ascot three weeks ago (5f, good to firm; cheekpieces first time); looked ready for the return to 6f on that occasion but is perhaps vulnerable to a few lurking further down the weights.
