Caught the eye at Epsom on Derby Day when making a big mid-race move under a 7lb claimer and he confirmed his wellbeing with an emphatic C&D success two weeks ago; 8lb higher on faster ground and from a double-figure stall this time; others appeal more.

Won the Dash last summer and then got the better of American Affair in a 5f handicap at Pontefract last August; their subsequent paths have differed but he's only 2lb higher today and his Pontefract reappearance was promising; lacklustre effort in this year's Dash, however, and hopes rest on a return to 6f perking him up.

Looked destined for the top when beating 16 rivals at last season's Dante meeting (5f, good) but managed only a midfield finish at Royal Ascot one month later; down the field in three runs in Bahrain over the winter, since which he has been gelded and undergone wind surgery; has a tongue tie enlisted too; could yet fulfil that early promise but there are risks attached.

Began his turf campaign with a pair of 7f wins (good ground); the handicapper has held the upper hand since and although he ran creditably over C&D two weeks ago, he could prove vulnerable over this trip on drying ground.
