Mandy White 60th Birthday Celebration Handicap Chase

Well beaten on handicap hurdle debut in January but 3-3 since switched to fences with tongue-tie/cheekpieces fitted this spring, with all three wins gained over C&D on good ground; comfortably pulled 10l clear of Summer In Milan 16 days ago and his latest 11lb rise is partially offset by Freddie Mitchell's useful 5lb claim today; makes obvious appeal.

Now 5lb lower than when gamely making all in five-runner C&D (good to soft) contest in September but his record in recent years is rather mixed and he has been safely held on both outings this spring (hurdle/chase).

Scored over hurdles in first-time visor here (2m5f, good) in March and came second (albeit no match for Jack Sparrow Grey) in C&D chase in first-time cheekpieces last month; still unexposed over fences and can give another good account in refitted visor.

Dual 2m4f chase winner last year, at Worcester (good) in the summer and at Leicester (soft) in December; has fitness to prove after 164-day break but current mark ought to be workable if he's fully tuned up.

1-18 over hurdles; battled on from unlikely position to score by 8l on recent chasing debut at Newton Abbot (2m5f, good), an eventful race in which the clear leader fell two out, but it's wise to treat piece of form with a degree of caution.
