Weatherbys Racing Bank Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Low-mileage 9yo; began chasing career with two disappointing runs last season but fared much better on his two outings this spring, more recently when drawing 14l clear to win four-runner race at Newton Abbot (3m2f, good); subsequent 6lb rise might have been worse, and he's still unexposed over this sort of trip.

Very useful in his prime but yet to add to his two slow-ground Irish chase wins in January 2021 and has not shown a great deal on his three starts for Neil King this spring; swaps visor for first-time hood here; tongue-tie removed; revival needed.

Worked his way back to form in second half of last season and arrives here after finishing second at Market Rasen (3m, good) and Cartmel (3m1f, good) this spring; still on a workable mark; ought to make his presence felt.

Dual course winner (2m3f/2m5f) who looked very well suited by the step up to 3m2f when comfortably too good for a course specialist (and next-time-out winner) at Newton Abbot (good) last month; must be considered.

Four-time chase winner (2m4f-3m2f, good-soft); out of form during three-race spell last spring and made a low-key reappearance last month; well handicapped now but needs that recent outing to have brought him on.
