The Valley Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Chase

Still unexposed after only five rules starts but was safely held in two good-ground chases (2m1f/3m) towards end of last season and needs significant improvement here.

Pulled up twice on soft ground last season but came good over fences when back on a sound surface and fitted with first-time cheekpieces at Taunton (3m4f, good to firm) last month; only 3lb higher here and Benjamin Macey looks excellent value for his 8lb claim against other conditional jockeys.

3m1f hurdle winner for Dan Skelton in 2023; generally disappointing for Stephen Allen since returning from long absence in December but last month's fourth here (2m4f, good) proved some ability remains; drops in grade today and the move back up in trip ought to suit; could have a say.

Pounced from off the pace to win in first-time cheekpieces at Hereford (3m1f, good) last month and is now 2-5 over fences; should be fine on this left-handed track and could still have more to offer; respected.

Back in good nick when fitted with a tongue-tie for his two outings last month, more recently when battling on gamely for narrow C&D (good) win; recent 5lb rise demands more from him today but he's still well handicapped on older form.
