Competitive under both codes for Alan King; second run for this yard was better than the first but was still only a remote fourth of six at Kempton (2m, good); may appreciate this longer trip given he stayed well on the Flat.

Back from a break for stable debut here 19 days ago and he did it well (2m2f, good); that was off a career-high mark and now has another 6lb to contend with, but he's consistent and looks sure to be involved.

9lb lower when an easy winner of this 12 months ago but he can deal with this mark and latest close third at Ffos Las (good to soft) was commendable given he likes good ground; could very easily win this again.

Best maiden efforts over hurdles came on slow ground and has disappointed in both his handicaps; the tongue-tie was removed for a Flat run two weeks ago but ran no better.

Would have a shout on last year's peak form and this looks his trip; however, will need to step up on his recent efforts and trainer turns to headgear.
