1-9 over fences; last three runs all at Newcastle, finishing second in January (2m7f, soft; effective on good) before failing to stay 4m1f in the Eider; again favourite back there over 2m4f a month ago and offered little resistance to the principals; capable of having a say if back on song.

Should be well handicapped but he's not offered a great deal in three runs after a break, in handicap chases from 2m4f to 3m1f; bit to prove right now.

Seems all the better for cheekpieces; won by 15l at Uttoxeter (3m2f, good) in November and back from a break to finish third in a well-contested handicap at Cheltenham (3m4f, good); same mark here as last time; firmly enters the reckoning.

Has won his last five completed starts, three chases and two hurdles; it was over hurdles when doing it readily on his return from a break at Warwick (3m1f, good) but this lightly raced 9yo has never been in better form; 9lb higher for this.
