Won the corresponding race 12 months ago off a 3lb lower mark; had the benefit of a run on that occasion, and when winning the previous May, but he can run well fresh and has had another wind surgery since last in action; doesn't always get it right at the start but he's a big player if he negotiates the stalls without alarm.

Has always been blessed with plenty of ability and he did well when switched to Tom Clover last summer, winning 5f handicaps at Windsor and Newmarket; solid effort over 6f when last seen in September; not on a bad mark if ready to roll on his return.

Returned from a break with an easy front-running win at Chelmsford in March; came up short off this 8lb higher mark at Epsom 18 days ago; needs a career best if he is to record a first turf win.

Won a Thirsk handicap (5f, good to firm) off a 1lb higher mark last May; looked in need of the run when tenth at Beverley on his return to action 16 days ago; can do much better here.
