4 Oaks Group Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

The winner of six chases and three hurdles; only 1lb higher than when winning at Exeter three runs back (2m3f, good) and has a lot in his favour, other than he's been off since November.

Has won two of his four chases despite looking a bit iffy with his jumping, including when beating one other finisher by a wide margin at Southwell (2m4f, good); has the right man on board to make up his mind at the fences and the handicapper didn't go overboard with a 4lb rise.

On a good mark and this trip is a better fit than the 2m7f he ran over last time, which followed a respectable effort at Newbury; first-time blinkers replace regular cheekpieces but all his best form is with cut in the ground.

Won in small fields at Fontwell in March (soft/good; in this new headgear combination the second time) and it was a Class 2 in which he struggled back there a month ago; high enough in the weights now but hard to dismiss.

Hard to win with at the best of times and more than two years have passed since last success; ran okay at Kelso last time when getting competitive a good way out; leaving the visor off might not be a bad thing.
